Basic Rules of 5 Card Omaha Game in Online Poker

Unlike other variations of poker online, in Omaha, you’ll get a whole lot of fun and thrill. In poker language, the game is also known as 5 card Omaha poker because 5-hole cards are dealt with each player. Playing poker for this variation requires the players to make 5 card poker hand with at least 3 community cards and 2-hole cards.

Pot Limit Omaha 

Are you a novice in real money poker? No issues the mere name of the game will give you the idea that in this variation there’s a minimum bar on the amount that can be raised to play the game. Your raise can be the same as the previous bet. Again, here the maximum raise is the number of bets that are running actively on the pot. However, rules say that every player must first call and then raise!  

No limit Omaha 

In case you are a poker pro and have a lot of money to invest, then no limit Omaha is your game. Playing this version of online poker in India requires a lot of bankroll management. The maximum raise in this game is the size of your stack and as the name suggests there is literally no limit to the amount of money that you can raise in this version of poker game. 

Basic rules of Omaha 

Rule 1#  

In the pre-flop stage, you need to check out all the hole cards and attempt to call or raise the big blind. You can even fold if you want. To end the round here, every player present at the poker table needs to act – either fold or not. While playing poker online keep a note of the same.  

Rule 2# 


3 community cards that the player has to use in poker online sets the tone of the game. The betting will always start from the player who sits on the left side of the dealer. This rule ins applicable whether it’s online or offline.  

Rule 3# 

After the first round of betting, the flop is dealt with and put face-up on the online poker table. Every time one round gets over, the other starts off with the same pattern. 

Rule 4# 

Once the betting is completed the turn is dealt face up. This involves the 4th community cards and the same is dealt to the players. Again, the betting round begins with the next active player on the table.  

Rule 5# 

Once all the betting rounds are completed in real money poker, the river is dealt face-up on the online poker table. This is the last community card and the final round of the game begins as soon as the card is dealt.
