Know The Strategy Of Winning Omaha Poker Online

When it comes to Omaha poker online strategy, the most important weapon you have in your arsenal is the hand that you are dealt. No matter how strong a player you are, you will more often need good cards to up your winnings. Of course there will be the times that you will bluff your opponents. But doing so too often will warn them of your playing strategy. Let’s explore it thoroughly.

The tale of Aces:

If you are dealt a starting hand containing pocket Aces then you are in a strong position at the online poker game. One of the best starting combinations is two Aces and two Kings. Having the highest two-pair combination on the table, you should stay in the hand. If, however, your Ace/King pairs are suit then you are in a slightly stronger position. This is due to the fact that you have two potential flushes to get.

This same principle applies to a pair of Aces with Queens, Jacks and Tens. If these pairs are suit then you have a great chance of winning the hand. Holding the Ace of a certain suit is a very powerful hand when chasing a flush.

A pair of Aces is also a strong starting hand when dealt along with other high cards. King, Jack or Queen, Ten for example.

The story of Kings and Lower:

If you did not strike it really lucky with pocket Aces, then pocket Kings are almost equally as strong. If these Kings are dealt with a pair of Queens (two suits in total) then you will still be sitting with a powerful hand. By having these pairs double-suited you will be in the position to lad a flush on the flop. A pair of Kings with any other high pair is a hand worth holding onto. More often than not this hand will provide you with the poker online pot.

However, you have to keep in mind that although these are strong hands, there are other players in the poker online game who could be in a stronger position than you. If you think this is the case then you should fold and not let your ego dictate how you play poker online.

Wrap Hands:

Wrap hands refer to four pocket cards which are dealt in consecutive number order – for example, Nine, Eight, Seven, Six. These hands will allow you to confidently chase a straight. If these cards are double-suited then your hand is even stronger because you will also have two flush options on the flop.

The strongest of the wrap hands is Jack, Ten, Nine, Eight. This may seem odd due to the fact that the Ace-high straight is stronger. The answer to this lies in the fact that with a Jack-high potential straight you have more options on either side of the Jack to make up a straight. The wrap cards can also contain a gap. Keep in mind that pocket cards containing Jack, Ten, Eight, Seven will also give you a good starting hand.

Wrap Hands With More Details:

Staying in the hand with a weaker straight chase is not advisable. There is a strong chance that someone else in the hand will have a higher straight, especially if you are relying heavily on the community cards to make up your combination.

In developing a strategy for playing poker online you are in essence defining a set of boundaries that you play within. A strong Omaha Poker strategy will have a different set of player defined moves than that of a draw poker strategy. It is sometimes a case of not letting emotion get in the way of this and sticking to your game plan. When moving from table to table it’s important to wear your Omaha poker online strategy hat as soon as you sit at the table and take off your Hold’em hat.

In all forms of poker online, you have to play the cards that you are dealt. At the end of the day all you have is your cards and your gut feel. If you play these the best possible way then you know that you are doing all you can in poker strategy.

Have a happy poker time!
