Starting Hands for Texas Hold’em Online Poker

In online poker games, a pair of aces is one of the best starting hands, in particular for Texas Hold’em poker. But are you aware about your worst hands?

Perhaps by now many of you have known which hands you are going to fold during your poker round. This knowledge can help you to better evaluate what you are holding at the start of the game. Knowing how to spot these bad hands are a crucial part of developing your online poker game.

Let us explore which are the worst poker hands and see if it matches your knowledge of worst hands while playing Texas Hold’em.

2 and 7

Holding 2 and 7 off suit is thought the worst hand in Texas Hold’em poker. They are the lowest two cards you can have which cannot make a straight. If they are suited, they will make you a very low flush and if they are paired, it is still low hand. Hence, use this hand carefully.

2 and 8

The only different between 2, 8 and 2, 7 is that you have got 8 instead of 7. 8 is still a quite bad for a high card. Suited or not, this is normally the card a online poker player needs to fold. If you by chance get pairs, the pairs will be low.

3 and 8

This starting hand is not less at being bad than the above two ones. Another off suited hand! Best wait for a better hand to play and fold this one.

2 and 9

This hand is only slightly better than the hands we are discussing till now. Why? The reason is 9 can be included in high card. But all the above conditions can be included for this hand as well.

2 and 6

Of the 169 possible starting hands in Texas Hold’em poker, this one ranks 165th. That’s not something to brag about. Face it; you’re having a bad day when you see any of these five hands. Poker is a fun game but playing this hand is just asking for a pain.

Have a happy online poker time!
